18-01-201269th Annual Golden Globe Winners
The 69th annual Golden Globes were held on 16th January 2012, with Ricky Gervais returning once again to host and roast the audience of film industry stars. No one film dominated the night, but silent French comedy The Artist came close with three wins, including Best Actor for Jean Dujardin. It was the George Clooney/Alexander Payne drama The Descendants, however, that eventually took home the Best Picture award.
The Brits did well in the Television categories, with Kate Winslet winning Best Actress for her titular role in melodrama Mildred Pierce, Idris Elba picking up Best Actor in a Miniseries for the BBC's Luther, and colossal hit Downton Abbey winning Best Miniseries.
All Golden Globes 2012 nominees and winners are now credited in their respective Searchmuze entries.

17-06-2011A Message to searchMuze Users
Dear searchMuze customer,
You may have noticed some changes to the music channels of the searchMuze.co.uk website as a result of work that we have undertaken to improve our database infrastructure. Here is an overview of what is changing.
Product reviews: There will be more album descriptions and the word count will generally be higher, improving the breadth and depth of product information available to you.
Label Company Details: Label address and contact data will no longer be published, though label and distributor names will remain available. This means that the “Companies” tab will no longer be a feature of the searchMuze.co.uk site.
Soundtracks Tab: All records for soundtrack products have been migrated into existing Pop and/or Classical channels. This means information on soundtrack products is still available and can still be searched for in the “POP” or “CLASSICAL” tabs. Also, some data will be expressed slightly differently in terms of editorial style including, but not limited to:
• Artist names
• Titles
• Label/distributor names
We are also currently working to improve the consistency of release dates and catalogue numbers and also the availability of cover artwork.
You patience while we make these improvements is greatly appreciated.
Sincerely,
Rovi Client Services
01-06-2011May Albums of the Month
With the sun now shining and the Summer Festivals kicking into life, May has proved to be another great start to the summer season with some fine albums being released. Below are a few of the stand-out favourites picked by the staff of SearchMuze.
Beastie Boys – Hot Sauce Committee Vol.2'Hot Sauce Committee Part Two' was obviously originally intended to be the second part of a double release from the Beastie Boys. However, when member Adam Yauch was diagnosed with a tumour in 2009 'Part One's' release was delayed indefinitely. To ensure that the group met their release commitments for 'Part Two', the album now contains the tracks originally slated for 'Part One', and will be released first, but will still, confusingly, be named 'Hot Sauce Committee Part Two'.
Fleet Foxes - Helplessness Blues'Helplessness Blues' is the anticipated follow-up to Fleet Foxes' 2008 debut. Recorded and co-produced by fellow Seattleite Phil Ek, it expands the band's baroque folk songs by focusing heavily on rhythm and groove, although Fleet Foxes' signature harmonies are also on full display.
Mick Harvey - Sketches From The Book Of The Dead'Sketches From The Book Of The Dead' is the fifth studio album from former Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds collaborator Mick Harvey. A complete musician in his own right, mastering guitar, keyboard, bass and drums, Harvey set about this solo project in 2007. The record deals with the experiences and memories of many close friends he has since lost, creating song-stories drenched in country and blues-styled narrative, alongside a true sense of identity and loss.
Zombi - Escape Velocity'Escape Velocity' is the fourth studio album from Pennsylvanian space-rockers Zombi. Referencing Italian horror scores, especially the cult band Goblin on their previous records, the duo turn to the cutting-edge synths sounds of the eighties, soaking in everything from Giorgio Moroder to the cosmic krautrock sounds of Neu and Harmonia. The results are both pulsating and surprisingly ethereal. It includes the track 'Shrunken Heads'.
